Associated Parishes for Liturgy and Mission
The Associated Parishes for Liturgy and Mission was founded in 1946 to foster liturgical renewal. APLM influenced the process of liturgical evolution in the mid-20th century and has helped the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church in Canada understand and use revised and supplemental texts ever since. We have also helped congregations understand the non-textual elements of worship and how lifelong faith formation and the work of social justice are integral to liturgical practice.
As we move toward the next General Convention, the issues of proposed liturgical revision are much on our minds, as we seek to address the concerns of 21st century liturgical needs while continuing to be guided by, the baptismal ecclesiology of the 1979 Book of Common Prayer.
